Christmas at Lowell

At least 38, and perhaps a good number more Rotarians and guests gathered at the Lowell School library to enjoy lunch with the children of Lowell School. As members drifted in, the crowd just kept growing and growing, turning out to be the biggest lunch crowd ever attended .
Attested by President Steve, in his thank you remarks to the Principal, Miguel Naranjo he viewed the crowd even in these troubled financial times, as a testament to our continuing support of Lowell School.
Students chosen to lunch with the Rotarians were chosen because of their good citizenship. Lunch was a tasty lasagna and spaghetti, with antipasto salad and French bread. Performances by the 2nd and 6th grade classes included the singing of roll over and Jingle bells. The first grade, bi-lingual class dressed in formal attire sang Feliz Navidad and La Pinata, which was a cute performance by the mostly missing-front tooth group.
Thanks to Mark Brage and Carlos Gonzales for their efforts at the Lowell School. After the luncheon, several Rotarians
ventured across to the Neighborhood Resource Center that was rehabbed by our club, and followed the brick road to enjoy the artful décor and buildings
