The 11:30 Club

Your intrepid reporter ventured forth on Thursday morning to Tornino’s to check out what was happening at the fabled 11:30 Club. The 11:30 Club is going strong. TERRY HUNTSMAN is sorely missed. ROGER “Twinkletoes” ANDERSON made an appearance, apparently recovered from showing off his dancing prowess on Charter Night. ADG Stan Dorrance showed up, recovering from back surgery. The surgery didn’t prevent him from telling his usual off-color jokes. It was great to see BILL DUKE back at Rotary, with his designated driver, BILL McGLASSON. Other attendees included CHARLIE WADHAMS, NICK SMALDINO, JERRY DALE (selling raffle tickets), STEVE BEZZERIDES, FRED BIGLIONE, GORDON KNOTT and PP Dick Powell. In other words, the Usual Suspects.

The Meeting

After DAVE McGLASSON invoked the blessings of the Almighty on our meeting, PRESIDENT JANET POWELL invited the gathering to remember RON DUSTIN’s mother, Patsy Sue Dustin, with a moment of silence. Patsy passed away on October 21st. Keep RON and his family in your thoughts. STEVE BEZZERIDES led the flag salute, and SHANNON STINER introduced the visiting Rotarians and guests.

BOB CARTER gave an update on DON FOPPIANO’s condition following his mishap at the Copper River Country Club on Charter Night. DON is recovering nicely from a broken nose and eye socket. He was kept for observation a few days, in an effort to determine why he fainted. No news on that yet.
