When it comes to our natural resources, there seems to be an overwhelming number of problems and not enough simple solutions. It can be incredibly difficult as a consumer to make choices that benefit the world around us without breaking our wallets or our willpower.

Kat McHenry shares her journey through the world of plastic waste into leading a plastic minimal and more efficient lifestyle.

Kat’s story of discovery and empowerment over the last 10 years is one that she believes can be applied to every conscious consumer, regardless of which cause they choose to invest in. She is armed with tips, tricks, and ocean-friendly products to help make your life a little cleaner and a little greener. Join us on August 23rd to dive into the world of ocean plastic and how the average person can indeed make a significant difference.

Kat McHenry is an animal lover, devoted marine scientist, and more recently, a born-again consumer. She spent a semester abroad in the Turks and Caicos Islands studying invasive species, where she began to discover the problems surrounding global trash. Graduating from Santa Clara University in 2012 with a degree in Environmental Science, she set out to find new ways to reduce waste in her life. She has been with the Monterey Bay Aquarium for 4 years, splitting her time between volunteering, behind the scenes Animal Care, and Public Programming, where she has had the opportunity to educate thousands about making Earth-equal lifestyle choices.
