Rotary International District 5230 Hurricane Florence

This email provides information on how you and your Rotary Club can respond to the terrible flooding in North Carolina. The following information is provided by Rotary International Director David Stovall:

The forces of nature, namely, Hurricane Florence, is causing, and has caused massive loss in the Southeastern States of the US. In the next few days, we will be assessing and responding to the IMMEDIATE needs for the bare survival of nearly 2 million people. As of this writing, roughly 1 million people are without power, and it’s unknown just how long it will be before power is restored, before people will be able to leave shelters to return to their home, and months before life will take on any form of normalcy again. We have established a collaborative Disaster Relief Fund at The Rotary Foundation to assist. I am personally calling on you to make a contribution to the Relief Effort.Rotary International is 1.2 million members strong. Local Rotarians in the Carolinas, and the surrounding states will lead in the rebuilding of the region, but we need your assistance, as a Rotarian, or as a Friend of Rotary.I encourage each of you to BE THE INSPIRATION, our collaborative worldwide theme this year, by contributing to this Relief Fund today!
