North Fresno Rotary Foundation Gives $2,500 to Wings Advocacy of Fresno
The Rotary Club of North Fresno Endowment Foundation has given $2,500.00 to Wings Advocacy of Fresno for a furniture bank for recently housed homeless families, children, veterans and victims of domestic violence in Fresno and Madera Counties. The funding will be used for the purchase of approximately 21 bed sets. Wings of Fresno purchases new mattresses, bed frames, and pillows which make up approximately 60% of the total annual cash budget.
In 2017, Wings’ service levels double causing a shortage of available bedding and supplies of our Fresno communities. National housing policies confirm that the successful settling of a homeless family or individual into housing requires ongoing supportive services. Wings supports these clients by delivering new beds and pillows with fresh linens and clean, gently used home furnishings.
