Deputy Division Chief for the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development’s, Facilities Development Division, in Southern California.

I have held this position since February of 2011, and held the same position in our Sacramento office for 2 ½ years prior to that.

I worked in the Fire Service for 20 years, before coming to the State of California, as a Fire Marshal.

I started with OSHPD in April of 1994.

My responsibilities include overseeing the plan review and construction of Hospitals and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Along with overseeing the 56 Office staff, and 24 field staff.

I supervise the 9 supervisors and 2 other staff out of the numbers listed above.

I was brought on for my leadership abilities and the ability to find quick simple solutions to complex issues.

I am in my position as a Career Executive Appointee, to make a difference in the lives and outcomes for all that we serve.

California's Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) is the leader in collecting data and disseminating information about California's healthcare infrastructure. OSHPD promotes an equitably distributed healthcare workforce, and publishes valuable information about healthcare outcomes. OSHPD also monitors the construction, renovation, and seismic safety of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities and provides loan insurance to assist the capital needs of California's not-for-profit healthcare facilities.
